Girls’ basketball: Fabulous freshman alert at Lynwood

Keep this freshman on your radar -- Sheila Boykin, a 6-foot-3 center for the No. 11-ranked Lynwood Knights. The kid’s been superb. Like a seasoned senior.

Boykin scored 20 points with 12 rebounds Wednesday night in a 55-19 victory over Warren. She scored 22 points versus Chapparal, 15 against Las Vegas Durango and had a 19-point effort against Magnolia. And she recently pocketed some props as a prep athlete of the week for The Press-Telegram.

Boykin and Lynwood play host to Gahr at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
