The Sea Kings -- wait, let’s call them the Queens -- won, 14-5, at Mira Costa on Monday. And what’s so special about that? Well, it was the first time Palos Verdes had ever won there. And it’s just keeping with the team’s magical mojo of late. The Sea Queens, ranked No. 5 in Division II, have floated to the top of the Bay League with a 4-0 league, and they’re 15-7 overall.

One reason for the success is what’s happening at the back of the pool -- the bailiwick of goalie Rachael Robinson. Against the superb offense of No. 8-ranked Mira Costa, she had nine saves and squelched eight 6-on-5 attacks.
