Here are some awesome matches to view from the big wrestling tournament at Fountain Valley -- even LL Cool J would call them comebacks:

-- 130-pound finals: Scott Chene of Irvine trailed Kevin Maelfeyt of Weaverville Trinity, 8-3, in the second period and was really lucky it was even that close. Chene took over in the third but still trailed until the final seconds. Watch how he pulled out a 12-11 victory here.

-- 171-pound finals: Ian Daube of Poway was basically toying with Jake Meredith of Temecula Valley in the first period. But Meredith, who trailed, 7-2, after one period, not only scored nine unanswered points in the second period -- he didn’t even let the match continue into the third. Check out the buzzer-beating pin here.

-- 135-pound finals: This one didn’t turn out so well for the Southern Section wrestler, but it seems like everyone has been talking about this match on The California Wrestler website. Vinny Pisani of El Modena nearly pinned Nick Fisher of Clovis West twice in the first period and held a 10-1 lead early in the second. But Fisher started turning things around late in the second and pulled out an 11-10 victory (watch here), taking the lead for the first time with about 15 seconds remaining.

But with the exception of the last half of his match against Fisher (who was the fourth seed and is ranked No. 5 in the state), Pisani (the second seed and ranked No. 2 in the state) had a great tournament, winning his previous matches by technical fall, two major decisions and a decision.

The Flowrestling web site has video coverage of all the championship matches, and lots from the earlier rounds as well.
