Don’t hold your breath trying to figure out where Carpinteria LB/TE Eric Stein will be heading to college. The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder looks as if he could be waiting until signing day, Feb. 6, to make his choice, even though the Naval Academy has emerged as the front-runner for his services next fall.

However, the All-Tri-Valley League first-teamer isn’t looking only at football in making his decision.

‘If everything works out,’ Stein told Scout.com, ‘I’d like to be a fighter pilot.’

I could see that. Stein’s definitely got that certain ‘Ice Man’ look. Plus, he’s got the smarts -- he has a 4.0 GPA and scored a 1,760 on his SAT. I guess that’s why he’s also got an offer from Princeton, too.

So, we’ll have to wait a couple weeks to see if Stein chooses a school that could help him fly a jet or one that could help him build one.
