If you’re a hardcore Varsity Times Insider page-clicker, it may seem like I have a connection at UC Santa Barbara with all the Gaucho-themed recruiting news I’ve been posting in recent weeks. But I swear it’s just a coincidence.

In this week’s UCSB recruiting update, I’m happy to report Newbury Park senior infielder Keilani Jennings is one of four SoCal athletes to have signed with the Gauchos, according to Coach Brie Galicinao. Jennings heads into her final high school campaign as a two-time All-Marmonte League Team selection with a career .491 batting average and a career .490 slugging percentage.

Joining her at the seaside school will be El Camino Real star pitcher Krista Cobb (23-6 record, .892 ERA and 319 strikeouts as a junior) and Crescenta Valley infielder Lainey DePompa (.407 BA, three-year All-Pacific League Team honoree). Finally, La Serna outfielder Brooke Putich (.449 BA, .617 on-base percentage) will wear the blue and gold just like her older sister, Brittany, does.

And if for some reason you have trust issues with bloggers, try your hand at sports information instead.
