Fairfax’s Sidney disciplined by his coach

Renardo Sidney, Fairfax’s 6-foot-10 junior center, was benched Wednesday against Los Angeles University after getting into an altercation with a teammate during halftime of the JV game.

‘He got into a disagreement,’ Coach Harvey Kitani said. ‘It was one of those boys things. Being playful, then one stepped across the line and it escalated. And they’re friends.’

Sidney’s availabilty for Friday’s game against Venice is uncertain. Kitani said both players have spoken since.

Fairfax is unbeaten in the Western League.
