This week’s rains have wreaked havoc on the Southland’s soccer schedules, but Beverly Hills is probably the only girls’ basketball team to have two games rained out.

The Normans’ Ocean League home game against Inglewood scheduled for Friday night will be played Feb. 4 at 6 p.m. Their home game against Culver City, which had been scheduled for Wednesday, was rescheduled for Monday at 4:30 p.m.

Both games had to be postponed because a leaky roof at the school’s famed 67-year old Swim-Gym caused the floor to be wet, Coach John Braddell said. Several other games over the years in the Swim-Gym have been postponed because of rain. A new roof is being installed.

The Swim-Gym is best known for its use for the graduation party scene in the classic 1946 film ‘It’s a Wonderful Life,’ where Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed fall into the swimming pool after a jealous suitor (Carl Switzer) opens the basketball court they are dancing on.

Here’s a very different approach to seeing clips of the classic movie, along with a soundtrack provided by Athletic Mic League, via YouTube. Check out that wild gym floor! Enjoy:
