Fox 11 shoots an air ball with live shot from El Toro High

I love seeing local high school sports getting TV time, but c’mon ‘Good Day L.A.,’ you can do better than that.

They had a reporter in the El Toro High gymnasium this morning, promoting their high school highlights section of the Fox website. They had the El Toro boys’ basketball team performing a pregame layup drill ... in their game day shirts and ties.

I thought one of the poor fellas was going to get his tie caught on the rim and hang himself on live TV.

Then the reporter, decked out in an El Toro jersey, decided to try what every reporter does at the end of a segment inside a basketball gymnasium, to sink a basket. I don’t think she hit the rim on her three layup attempts before Steve Edwards, thankfully, told her they had to go to a commercial.

And these kids got pulled out of class for that?
