I know I already blogged about another 100-goal scorer today, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to ignore what Desert Christian‘s Robyn Estrada accomplished last week.

Estrada had a hat trick in the Knights’ 12-0 shellacking of Kern Valley on Tuesday to reach the century mark. Heading into the final week of the regular season, Estrada has 29 goals and 105 career tallies.

I think she’ll surpass the 40-goal plateau later this month (she led the Southern Section with 40 last year) because this team is poised for a long postseason run. In case you haven’t heard, the Knights are on a 37-game unbeaten streak and they’ve beaten High Desert League opponents by an average of more than nine goals.

And that’s why the Knights are the clear favorites to take the Division VI title -- and I don’t mean a co-championship, either.

Still, the Knights probably won’t have a chance to clinch the league title outright until they play second-place Frazier Mountain in the regular-season finale on Friday.
