After Corona Centennial quarterback Matt Scott broke his fibula in an all-star football game a couple weeks ago, I wrote what a big risk those ‘games’ were for players who have already signed, or were preparing to sign, a letter of intent.

On the flipside, if you’re a senior who hasn’t been offered a scholarship, by all mean, strap it on as many times as possible in the postseason.

In the same all-star game that the Arizona-bound Scott was injured, Daniel Simmons of Colony finally made a name for himself among recruiters.

The defensive back was named defensive MVP in the game, earning an official trip to Washington State for his efforts. While visiting Pullman over the weekend, he was offered a scholarship, which he accepted on the spot.

Fresno State and Texas-El Paso had also began recruiting Simmons hard in recent weeks, but when you have a chance to play in the Pac-10, why sell yourself short?
