The only ones I’ve ever heard of holding a party on a Tuesday night were The Beastie Boys, but I’m sure those gray-haired MCs aren’t gettin’ down too much these days -- just look at them.

So if you’re looking for something to do that doesn’t involve watching Simon Cowell roll his eyes at some wannabe Kelly Clarkson, there’s a few decent basketball games going on tonight.

Montclair Prep (13-7, 5-3) at Campbell Hall (20-5, 8-0), 7 p.m. -- OK, I’ll admit it would be downright weird if the Mounties pulled this one off, but they are the best team in the Olympic League after the Vikings. And while they don’t have any UCLA-wants-me type of scorers on their roster, the Mounties do have some decent swooshers in Daymond Cowlah, Roland Makoge and Ben Sperling. Cowlah is averaging 16.9 ppg and Makoga and Sperling have more than 11 ppg.

Hart (17-8, 3-5) at West Ranch (16-7, 4-3), 6:30 p.m. -- Last time they played, it was a one-point affair and this time, Hart’s playoff hopes are on the line. If West Ranch wins, it’ll likely be playoff bound for the first time. If Hart wins, its postseason life support will stay plugged in at least until the end of the week. But this one’s going to be tough for the defending Foothill League champions, who’ve gone 1-3 since downing the Wildcats on Jan. 18.

Highland (17-8, 10-2) at Palmdale (7-15, 2-9), 7:30 p.m. -- Palmdale is certainly not the same team without Justin Haynes in the lineup, but the Bulldogs can’t afford any slip-ups. Highland is tied with Knight and Lancaster at the top of the Golden League and needs to beat the Falcons if it doesn’t want to surrender the league title and the nice playoff positioning that comes with it. Playing in Falcon land could be a test for Kyisean Reed and the rest of the pack. Do bulldogs travel in packs?

So those are some Tuesday night get-away-from-the-TV ideas. You could do something else -- just make sure it isn’t illegal or anything. Otherwise, Cochese and his ‘70s cop pals might have to kick some doors in. Check this out:
