Showdown for Marmonte League title minutes away from the start

Look out world, they let me out of the office again. And the timing couldn’t be better considering there’s a great boys’ basketball game going on right down the street from my house: Thousand Oaks at Simi Valley with the Marmonte League title at stake.

Glad I got here early, about a half hour before the tipoff, because this place is packed. The Lancers’ fans are out in force, wearing green head to toe. Simi Valley has a decent contingent, and perhaps the X-factor on its side. John Wooden is sitting just to the left of the Pioneers bench.

Yes, the John Wooden. Had to make sure to shake his hand before passing him by. Anyways, the game is about to start. I’ll make sure to check in frequently with updates. This one should be a classic.
