It seems the rich get are getting richer in the Citrus Belt League.

The latest football player that’ll need to memorize a new fight song is Gary Walker, an all-league wide receiver/defensive back who recently transferred from Rialto to Redlands East Valley.

The difference between those programs last season was only 11 victories. He must have liked what he saw while his team was losing to REV, 61-0.

In all fairness, Walker isn’t the only top returner in the CBL headed for greener pastures.

Last week, junior running back David Dash, a 1,200-yard rusher last season at Fontana, transferred to A.B. Miller. The difference in those programs was only eight victories.

It’s interesting how these transfers seem to coincide with the first day of the national signing period. I think some folks, perhaps, want to make sure they’re in position to sign a letter of intent next year.
