Reiko Thomas, leading scorer for the Narbonne girls’ basketball team, is expected to play in Friday’s Marine League final against visiting Carson.

Thomas, a senior guard, left Wednesday’s game at Washington in the fourth quarter with a calf injury. Narbonne had opened the fourth quarter with a nine-point lead, but wound up losing, 48-47.

Thomas scored 18 points before leaving. She averages 14.9.

Gauchos Coach Victoria Sanders said Thursday that Thomas’ injury was ‘more cramping than a pull,’ and that she would be in the lineup on Friday.

‘It’s Senior Night. Do you think she’s going to sit that one out?’ said Sanders, laughing.
