It’s time to be a nerd -- well, a Basketball Super Nerd -- and slide the boys’ Division I-AA pairings under my microscope.

Ooh-ooh, look, I see a few intriguing possibilities. . . .

Let’s root for a backyard blockbuster in the semifinals: No. 1-seeded Dominguez vs. No. 4 Compton, which would showcase super-scorers Jordan Hamilton of the Dons and DeMar DeRozan of the Tarbabes.

Let’s see if Loyola can sustain its scorching stretch. The No. 11 Cubs, who won eight of nine to close out the regular season and bagged the Mission League crown, will open the first round with Agoura.

Let’s pray for another Long Beach brouhaha, as the fiercest of foes, Poly and Wilson, could meet in a semifinal showdown. The No. 8 Bruins beat the No. 16 Jackrabbits twice this season -- by a combined three points.

Let’s see if the Pioneer League can earn some much-deserved court cred with unseeded reps North Torrance, Compton Centennial and Torrance.

Well, that’s enough as a Basketball Super Nerd -- now, let me go back to what I really am, just a nerd.
