Baseball: L.B. Wilson is No. 1 in D1 as preseason polls are released

The Southern Section preseason baseball polls by coaches are out, and Long Beach Wilson gets the nod as No. 1 in Division I, followed by Mater Dei, Los Alamitos and Thousand Oaks. I prefer Saugus and Orange Lutheran in the Nos. 3 and 4 spots.

Cypress and Crespi are No. 1 in Division II and Division III, respectively. Charter Oak tops Division IV and Bishop Amat is No. 1 in Division V. Practice began on Monday and the season opens on Feb. 29.
