A liar. A hero.

One is Roger Clemens. One is Brian McNamee. Who is whom? Don’t know yet.

Clemens, a king of kings on the pitching hill, testified on Capitol Hill that he never used steroids or growth hormone during today’s congressional hearing. McNamee, his former personal trainer, testified that Clemens was a user.

Why waste time on all this? Why even convene Congress? Why focus on a silly sport? Easy, to stop cheating and to save lives -- from the big leagues down to high schools. Even Clemens and McNamee agreed on that.

‘I want the kids to know there are no shortcuts,’ Clemens told Congress. ‘Steroids break down your body. I want the children to know that.’

Said McNamee: ‘We need to educated the youth ball coaches.’

No, we need to educate everybody. Especially children.
