Singleton gives ‘noble’ effort in loss to Yucca Valley

It’s scary to think how good a basketball player Temjae Singleton will be by the time he’s a senior, with a thousand more hours to practice that lethal jump shot. If he keeps pumping them in the way he was Wednesday night, he’s bound to break a few records by the time his high school days are over.

The 6-foot-4 freshman from Murphy poured in 40 points, including 11 three-pointers, in the Nobles’ 97-93 loss to Yucca Valley in the first round of the Southern Section Division IV-A playoffs. Was Singleton’s three-fest merely a one-shot wonder or a glimpse of things to come? We’ll have to wait until next season to find out.
