I can’t believe Monroe is hanging in with Washington. I also can’t believe the host second-seeded Generals are letting the 10th-seeded Vikings hang around.

Washington opened a 20-2 lead in the first quarter. It seemed the only question would be the margin of victory.

But the Vikings got to within 29-20 in the second quarter. They trail 33-20 at the half, but Monroe is not out of it yet. That’s the key word -- yet.
