Arroyo Valley, Cajon score a KO vs. Pacific League

The San Andreas League gave the Pacific League the old 1-2 punch in the Southern Section Division II-AA boys’ basketball playoffs Tuesday night.

The biggest uppercut belonged to 15th-seeded Arroyo Valley, which scored a 55-49 upset against third-seeded Pasadena in a second-round game at Pasadena.

(Facing Inland Empire teams in the second round is becoming a hazard for the defending champion Bulldogs, who were upset in the second round by Perris two years ago).

Cajon, which shared the SAL title with Arroyo Valley, dispatched Glendale Hoover, 63-56.

Cajon, seeded 10th, will host top-seeded Eisenhower in a quarterfinal Friday night, Arroyo Valley will host No. 11 Valencia.
