Campbell Hall rebounds from slow start and leads at the break

Got the first update from the Campbell Hall and Santa Maria St. Joseph boys’ basketball game via text message about 10 minutes ago, and you’re not going to believe this: The top-seeded Vikings were actually losing.

That’s right, they trailed, 18-15, at the end of the first quarter in a Southern Section Division III-AA quarterfinal game. It appears as if the opening eight minutes served as a wake-up call, though.

Campbell Hall came back with vengeance in the second quarter and regained the lead midway through to take a 39-31 advantage at intermission, behind 17 points from Jrue Holiday. Stay tuned for more...
