Girls’ soccer: Heck is one heckuva goalie for Long Beach Wilson

Oh man, 24 is stupendous.

I’m not talking about Kiefer Sutherland’s TV drama. Actually, never have watched it. What I’m noting is the number of shutouts this season from Lacey Heck, the goaltender for the Long Beach Wilson girls’ soccer team.

Heck’s latest goose-egg was Friday in a 1-0 quarterfinal victory over Buena in the Southern Section Division I playoffs. Goal-scoring extraordinaire, Samantha Prochnow, put in the game’s lone goal in the 55th minute on an assist from Marissa Wiegelman. And that was it, the Bruins will travel to Aliso Niguel on Tuesday for a semifinal showdown and Heck will gun for No. 25.

Now, back to Kiefer Sutherland. Do you know he’s not an American native? Nope, he was born in London on December 21, 1966. See all the super-cool trivia tidbits we learn from reading my blog? It’s not just sports! (Man, I’m a nerd.)
