It’s funny how things happen when you least expect them to and no one understands this better than Paul George, a senior on the Knight boys’ basketball team. One minute, the future appears bright, with his college plans seemingly set in stone as he and his teammates prepare for the biggest game in the history of the program. Then, everything changes.

The 6-foot-7 wing signed with Pepperdine, but following the resignation of Vance Walberg as coach, George was given his release so he can attend and play for another university. However, there’s very little time to think about the next step, not with Corona Centennial looming on Tuesday in a Southern Section Division II-A semifinal game at Antelope Valley College.
