As expected, Jrue Holiday is putting on an absolute show for fans in attendance at Tuesday’s Southern Section Division III-AA semifinal playoff game. The Campbell Hall senior scored 14 points and added five rebounds, four assists and three steals in the first half to give the top-seeded Vikings a 41-25 lead at intermission.

Holiday opened the game with a 3-pointer and added a pair of layups to give Campbell Hall a 9-2 lead midway through the first quarter, an advantage that was extended to 17-7 to open the second quarter. It was more of the same over the next eight minutes.

He threw down an emphatic left-handed dunk at the three minute mark of the second quarter, raised his firsts toward his head and jogged down the court while glaring at the La Canada faithful. The basket gave the Vikings their biggest lead of the first half, 36-16.

La Canada received a glimmer of hope at the end of the first half when Riley Heaton hit a bank shot from about 30 feet away as time expired. Not sure if the Spartans can sustain that momentum against a determined Holiday though. Stay tuned for more updates...
