Long Beach Wilson vs. Mater Dei already a game to remember

Well, the Mater Dei boys’ basketball team has one more quarter to avoid joining the Queen Mary in Long Beach maritime history.

To the chants of over-rated from the Long Beach Wilson student section, Mater Dei will take the floor to start the fourth quarter with just a two-point lead over the Bruins in their Southern Section Division I-AA semifinal.

Mater Dei went up by eight points and it finally looked like the Monarchs were going to put an end to this madness, but the Bruins stormed back with a 9-0 run.

A minute into the fourth quarter and they now lead, 55-53.

I’m sweating now too.
