Nyingifa’s season ends at Redondo, but we’ll keep her

No matter what happened tonight. No matter that she scored only 14 points. No matter that her preps career ended in a searing 41-37 loss to arch-nemesis Mira Costa in the Southern California Regional Division II girls’ basketball semifinals

Antonye Nyingifa will be remembered here in the Southland for spinning in layups, finessing jumpers and winning and winning.

And dominating.

In the past two seasons, the Nyingifa-led Sea Hawks won 48 games to only 13 losses, while in the process winning league crowns and also a Southern Section division title this year. And here’s the best part, we get to keep her -- she’s staying local, heading to UCLA.
