Comparing a high school basketball player to a long-time NBA veteran isn’t something I would normally do. But in the case of Tyreese Breshers of Price, an exception must be made. This guy reminds me of Charles Barkley in a number of different ways.

Physically, the two are similar. At 6-foot-7 and 250-plus pounds, Breshers is a wide-body and enjoys contact. The senior forward is capable of scoring down low in the post at will and grabbing boards in bunches, kind of like ‘Sir Charles’ did back in the day, although Barkley did it at a much -- much -- higher level.

Don’t believe me? Check out the Washington-bound Breshers for yourself Thursday when the Knights play visiting El Cajon Foothills Christian at 7 p.m. in a Division V semifinal game of the Southern California Regional playoffs. Wonder if anyone else notices the resemblance between ‘The Round Mound of Rebound’ and Breshers....
