Boys’ soccer: Salesian wins Division III regional final

Salesian beat Avenal , 3-0, in the first of three Southern California Regional finals at Warren High today/Saturday.

The goals were scored by Chris Chavez, Diego Hernandez and Brian Beltran.

The player who stood out, though, was senior Carlos Alvarez.The forward/attacking midfielder is currently being looked at by UC Irvine and West Virginia, among others.

He didn’t score a goal, but did get one assist. Alvarez’ crosses were David Beckham-like, which is to say accurate.
