Girls’ basketball: Division V title game will be underway shortly

Arrived at Mater Dei High about an hour early for Saturday’s showdown between Escondido Calvin Christian and San Luis Obispo Mission Prep in the Division V championship game of the Southern California Regional playoffs, and you’ll never guess who I ran into first ... Dale Ruhe, one of the guys that works alongside me in the office taking prep calls during the week.

Apparently, we’ll be seeing plenty of one another over the course of the day, considering he’s the public address announcer for all four games here. Honestly, Dale hasn’t sounded bad so far. In fact, he’s about to introduce the starting lineups for the game. Tip-off is minutes away and I’ll be sure to send updates as frequently as possible.
