For whatever reason, I was all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed when I jumped out of bed at 6:30 this morning, which is really weird since I’m not a morning person. And I don’t know if it was the brake-free drive on the 101 or the ‘A Momentary Lapse of Reason’ CD I had blaring on my stereo, but I arrived at the L.A. Sports Arena totally psyched for this morning’s Southern California regional Division III final between Muir and Magnolia.

Of course, you’d have to be pretty groggy not to like this matchup. Both these teams defied the odds to get here, and I’m looking forward to seeing the mad skills that earned Cherrish Wallace and Jhakia McDonald free rides to Division I programs next fall.
