The Magnolia redemption tour continued on Saturday. For the second consecutive game, Magnolia beat a team it lost to earlier this season, inching past Pacific League champion Muir, 40-39, in the Southern California Regional Division III girls’ championship game at the Sports Arena.

Muir’s Eliza Pierre was called for traveling while driving to the basket with two seconds left in the game, securing the victory for the Sentinels (25-6). Muir finished 26-2.

Magnolia will play the winner of the Stockton St. Mary’s-San Francisco Sacred Heart Cathedral for the Division III state championship at 1 p.m. next Saturday, March 15, at Arco Arena in Sacramento.

I’ll have more on this one soon...
