Fremont, Reseda play ball, at last

Fremont is hosting Reseda Monday afternoon, as both teams finally get their respective 2008 baseball seasons underway.

Neither team is on the elite radar -- especially Reseda, which is coming off a 6-18 season and has a new coach in Thomas Alfera.

But that’s the beauty of a season opener. The grass smells fresh, the uniforms are clean and the optimism is high.

Of course that first pitch can change everything.
