The traffic from my house to the office was, remarkably enough, non-existent this afternoon. In fact, the drive was actually nice, made even better by listening to the Loose Cannons on AM 570 KLAC. For the first time in a long time, the show was entertaining.

Must have been because of the guests. Prep basketball standouts Jrue Holiday and DeMar DeRozan were in studio, along with Larry Drew and Malcolm Lee, talking hoops, more specifically, the McDonald’s All-American game and college life in the future. Click here for a replay of the banter. Beware, think you might have to sign up on the website first.

Normally, I’ll tune in to the Loose Cannons to hear what Mychal Thompson has to say. He’s interesting. Steve Hartman isn’t bad either. As for Vic Jacobs, well, I can do without ‘The Brick’. However, the three were on top of their respective games today. Perhaps Jrue, DeMar, Larry and Malcolm should become show regulars .
