..and here are the things that stood out:
Santa Margarita and Santa Monica dominate the Division I and Division IV teams, respectively. Santa Margarita had five players and swept the awards. Santa Monica had six players and also won all the awards. They are pretty even teams, right? That reminds me, have you voted yet?The Loyola Marymount men’s incoming class features three Player of the Year award winners -- Division I defender of the year Roger Downes, of Santa Margarita, Division II offensive player of the year Tyler Krumpe (son of LMU Coach Paul Krumpe), of West Torrance, and Division IV offensive player Artur Jozkowicz, of Santa Monica. Quartz Hill midfielder Logan McDaniel, a future LMU player as well, also made first team Division I. Watch out for the Lions in two or three years. There were three underclassmen named POY winners, one sophomore and two juniors. The sophomore was Arrowhead Christian goalkeeper Mitchell Wiseman. The juniors were Saddleback defender Erik Zuniga and Hesperia defender Irvin Martinez.
