Mater Dei still leading midway through third quarter

Mater Dei maintained its double-digit lead through the first half of the third quarter, but point guard Blake Arnet just received his fourth foul. The refs had a great chance to ring up Mitty forward Drew Gordon for his fourth and maybe start evening things out, but instead they called one of the Wear twins for going over Gordon’s front with his back. I guess that’s what happened.

Collin Chiverton just broke up a breakaway dunk by Andy Brown by giving a two-handed tomahawk chop from behind. He received an intentional foul, but he almost sent Brown off on a stretcher.

I get the feeling Mitty is still sore about losing to Mater Dei in overtime in this game last season.
