Death, taxes and league play wait for no man -- or team.

Eagle Rock has played only seven games going into their Northern League opener on Monday. And the Eagles must open against Marshall, one of the early favorites to win the league.

‘I am concerned,’ said Eagle Rock Coach Richard Zuber, when asked about his 3-4 team’s amount of game time. ‘But seven games is enough. It’ll have to be.’

One reason for the short schedule: Zuber is also the girls’ soccer coach and had to finish that season first.
