First, in the spirit of a Moore League blog, I thought I’d post a photo of Demi Moore and one lucky dog. Now, let’s get down to business...

Don’t tell me it’s still early. Don’t tell me there’s lots of baseball still to play. Don’t give me any of those cliches. Please. At the moment, the Moore League looks upsidedown. Backwards. Even screwed up, one might say.

Who’s in first? Not Long Beach Wilson, the league’s titan and perhaps the nation’s. How about talented Long Beach Poly? Nope. Guess again.

It’s a tie; Lakewood and Long Beach Millikan are both 2-0 and perched atop the rest. Yet, neither team has an overall record above .500 and is expected to come close to even sniffing the league crown. But, if either team wins it, I wouldn’t be shocked.

Don’t forget who’s leading Lakewood -- Spud O’Neil -- one of the top baseball coaches in the Southern California. And Millikan may be bottling up some lightning for a magical run -- the Rams have beaten the feared Bruins.

And, if anything, it looks as if the Moore League should be fun to watch.

Well, gotta go -- I’m watching ‘G.I. Jane.’
