Just weeks after they resigned, it looks as if former Saugus basketball coaches Jeff Hallman and Eric Olsson aren’t going to have to commute too far for their new jobs. According to Cary Osborne at The Signal, both have been hired by The Master’s College as assistants to men’s basketball Coach Chuck Martin.

Now, no one’s saying these guys had job offers on the table before they resigned from Saugus, but I thought something was a-brewin’ when both Hallman and Olsson stepped down days apart from each other. Plus, both are alumni of The Master’s, so it makes sense they’d grab on to this sort of opportunity.

But who’s to criticize what they did? If they’re happier coaching at TMC, then they should do so. Besides, it appears they’re handling the recruiting side of things, so they’ll still have a definite presence in the high school community.
