There have been epic dynasties -- from the Julio-Claudia Dynasty in Rome to the Ming Dynasty in China to Dynasty Gammage at Long Beach Poly.

Gammage -- only a freshman -- clocked a school-record 5:05.72 in the 1,600 meters in the Trabuco Hills Invitational on Saturday. A few months back at Mt. San Antonio College, Gammage ran a freshman school record of 18:38, which was also the No. 2 mark on Poly’s all-time list.
