About a month ago, I had a funny feeling that it was just a matter of time before Keion Bell made a decision about his future. And my premonition became reality Wednesday when the senior from Pasadena verbally committed to Pepperdine.

‘Keion has tremendous upside and is talented enough to make an impact right away for the Waves,’’ Bulldogs Coach Tim Tucker said. ‘He’s one of the most amazing athletes I’ve ever been around. He does things normal high school kids just don’t do. His game is college-ready.’’

The 6-foot-3 guard had offers from programs such as Miami, San Diego St. and UNLV, to name a few. Other schools that expressed interest included Virginia and USC. Ultimately, the timing was right for Bell to join the Waves.
