I think it’s a safe bet that as long as Shon Roe plays baseball, he’ll never have a more productive day at the plate than the one he enjoyed Friday at the expense of Littlerock.

Quartz Hill‘s senior shortstop went five for five with a triple, four home runs and 12 RBIs in the Rebels’ 25-0 drubbing of their Golden League rivals. You’ve heard of players hitting for the cycle, right?

Well, get this. Roe hit for a home run cycle--blasting a two-run homer in the first inning and a solo homer in the second before hitting back-to-back round-trippers--a three-run shot and a grand slam--in the fourth. He also had a two-run triple in the third inning.

To keep Roe’s homer-fest in perspective, it did come against the last-place Lobos, who used three pitchers in four innings (the game was stopped after Littlerock failed to score in the top of the fifth), and the four homers were his first dingers of the season. Still, something tells me that he’ll want a copy of the score book ... just for safekeeping.
