The annual Nike Football Training Camp was held Sunday at USC and a number of upcoming seniors who have already committed to the Trojans were on hand to display their skills.

One of those pledges, quarterback Matt Barkley of Mater Dei, pictured, shared co-MVP of the camp with Mission Viejo quarterback Allan Bridgford, who is obviously still trying to make a name for himself because ESPN misspelled his name in this camp re-cap and in the world-wide leader’s on-line bio.

Another USC recruit, Vontaze Burfict of Corona Centennial, was named the most outstanding linebacker at the camp. At least one event organizor considered Burfict the best linebacker he has seen at a workout this spring, and the Nike camps have already made stops in Florida.

I get the feeling the upcoming senior class will be one of the better ones to come out of Southern California in the last several years.
