She hasn’t even graduated high school but Logan Hansen already plays tennis with the poise of a seasoned pro. Exhibit ‘A’ might be Friday’s triumph in the first round of the women’s open singles, during which the Brentwood senior seized control in the third set to oust Diamond Bar’s Jojo Sanford, 6-4, 5-7, 6-1.

Hansen, who has signed with Stanford, had a much easier time in the second round, beating Jonni Seymour of Bakersfield, 6-0, 6-4. Hansen, an 18-year-old Santa Monica resident whose resume includes a Southern Section individual singles title, is the only unseeded player in the semifinal round.

Hansen goes up against the top-seeded player, USC graduate Maureen Diaz, Saturday morning at the Ojai Valley Inn for a berth in Sunday’s final. Diaz schooled Cambell Hall’s freshman sensation Sabrina Santamaria, 6-0, 6-0, in the quarterfinals.
