Jordan Fox never doubted his ability. The sanity of college baseball, maybe, but never his ability.

Despite an impressive junior season, Fox had zero scholarship offers going into his senior season. In fact, only Loyola Marymount was talking to him. Not one to lack confidence, Bishop Amat’s leadoff hitter and first baseman told Eric Sondheimer he was going to prove people wrong. He has.

Fox, choosing to stay close to home, has accepted a scholarship offer from nationally-ranked UC Irvine, which is in the hands of former USC Coach Mike Gillespie. The Anteaters (30-12), fresh off their College World Series appearance last season, are ranked No. 13 in the nation in both the USA Today/ESPN coaches’ poll and the Baseball America rankings.

This is only the beginning for Fox, who is likely to receive more recognition later this month once the playoffs start. With a batting average of .539 and 16 multi-hit games in check, the future Anteater infielder stopped by to chat about his decision to go to Irvine and the season he’s having.

Here’s an interview with Bishop Amat’s ‘Hit King’ after he helped the Lancers beat St. Monica, 8-7, on Tuesday.
