It seems as though we have another round of elimination games on our hands.

On Thursday, Campbell Hall took the Olympic League title with a victory over L.A. Baptist and Paraclete pulled off a surprise over Montclair Prep to relegate the Mounties to second place.

Paraclete’s victory and L.A. Baptist’s loss forced a three-way tie for third place, instigating today’s double-header elimination round to determine which squad will grab the league’s final automatic playoff berth. Paraclete and Cerritos Valley Christian play at 1 p.m. at Hartunian-Simpson Field (Montclair Prep’s home field) and the winner will face L.A. Baptist at 3:30 p.m.

As my colleague Eric Maddy pointed out, this means all five of the Olympic League’s teams will be involved in some level of postseason play.

With that in mind, I have no idea which team is going to secure the final playoff berth following what should be five hours of competitive baseball. Too bad I’ve dedicated my afternoon to the Moorpark-Westlake elimination game.
