Does it surprise anyone that Claremont’s Kori Carter finished as the top qualifier in the 100-meter hurdles? Well, it shouldn’t because Carter had the fifth-fastest time in the state before she posted her 13.93 at Saturday’s Southern Section Division II preliminaries.

Still, as fast as Carter was in the 100, her best event is the 300-meter hurdles. Her time of 41.58 seconds in the 300 is the fastest in the state this season and it’ll be interesting to see how close she gets to that mark later this afternoon.
