Boys’ volleyball: Bishop Montgomery, Torrance will not be neighborly

Cruise a few blocks down Torrance Boulevard, hang a right, then a left and end up on Carson Street. You’ve just driven from Bishop Montgomery to Torrance -- two schools which sit 3.3 miles apart, according to our good pal Google.

Proximity often equals an obstreperous rivalry; it certainly does here. So that’s why you should consider jaunting over to Bishop Montgomery to see it host its neighbor, Torrance, in the Southern Section-Toyota Division IV quarterfinals on Friday at 7 p.m.

That’s right, I wrote obstreperous, even though I can barely pronounce it.
