Track and field: Claremont’s Carter turns in top girls’ 100 hurdles time

Section leader Kori Carter, a sophomore from Claremont, was the top qualifier in the girls’ 100-meter hurdles Saturday at Mt. SAC in the Southern Section-Toyota championships.

Carter, the Division II champion, clocked 13.89, the third-fastest time in the state this season coming into the day.

There was an exceptionally strong field in Division IV as four runners advanced with times among the seven fastest of the meet, including London Finley of St. Mary’s at 14.15 and Sasha Blanchard of La Reina at 14.19.

Junior Monisha Davis of Etiwanda was the Division I champion and Karynn Dunn won in Division III.

The girls’ 100 hurdles participants advancing to Friday’s Masters meet:
