Boys’ golf: Playoffs for title, among other spots, is about to begin

Andrew Perez of Santa Barbara and Johnny MacArthur of Hart finished tied for first place in the Southern Section-Toyota boys’ golf individual finals after each fired a four-under 68 on Monday. One of them will take home the first place plaque, pictured right.

That’s not the only tie here at Mission Lakes Country Club in Desert Hot Springs. There is also a tie for second between Shane LeBow of Santa Barbara and Bryan Bergna of Riverside Poly, who each shot 69.

There’s also an 11-player playoff to see who advances to the CIF/SCGA tournament, which will be on May 29 at the SCGA Member’s Course in Murrieta. Only six of the 11, all of whom shot 75, will move on.
