An RBI single in the third inning by Casey Toven and a solo home run by James Wharton in the fourth have padded top-seeded Chatsworth’s lead to 8-1 over Palisades in their City Section Championship Division quarterfinal game.

After giving up five hits in the first two innings, Chancellors’ starter Trevor Takeyama has found his groove. The senior right-hander has retired seven in a row and has eight strikeouts as Palisades bats with one out in the fifth inning.
